Sikeston Public Schools

Due to fog, inclement weather, or any other unforeseen circumstances, Sikeston R-6 may need to delay the start of school on a particular day. Below are the communications plan and procedures for district and buildings. 

District Communications Plan:

1. Once Superintendent and Transportation Director confirm the need for a delay, they will contact Communications.
2. Communications will contact staff and parents/guardians via text/call.
3. Communications will post on social media.
4. Communications will contact local news and radio stations.

Procedures at Building Level:

1. All school buildings will delay drop off and start times by 60 minutes.
2. No students may be dropped off at original drop off times.
