Course Description

The purpose of this course is to provide training on the job and in the classroom to junior and senior students from member high schools who show an interest in the building trades.  On the job instruction will consist of various residential and commercial projects that students will complete on an actual jobsite and shop settings.  This experience will be supplemented by classroom instruction and reading assignments.

Course Objectives

-Perform framing and finishing work necessary for entry level carpentry work

-Apply Paint, Stain, and other finishes properly

- Work efficiently on work assignments in construction related tasks

-Demonstrate desirable work attitudes by accepting assignments willingly, and following instructions with proper safety procedures

-Demonstrate the ability to work well with other students, workers, supervisors, and teacher on the job.
