Each day, students are expected to complete a weekly bellringer at the beginning of each math class. Students will pick up this assignment on Monday (or the first day of school that week) and keep it in the binder. A section will be completed each day of the week. Each student is expected to get their bellringer paper out each day and put it on their desk so the teacher can see the daily progress that is being made on it. The teacher will ask the class if they have any questions about the bellringer throughout the week. On Friday, the bellringer will be graded in class or collected for grading by the teacher. This is a weekly grade so it is important that students complete it and turn it in. Students are allowed to take the bellringer home to get help completing it or to have someone else check over their work.

We are using an inquiry-based curriculum called Connected Mathematics 2 (CMP2).  We are working in our second unit of the school year.  Students in 2nd, 5th, and 8th hours are about to complete Moving Straight Ahead, while students in 3rd, 6th and 7th hours are working in Comparing & Scaling.  If you would like to read the parent guide for the unit, which includes a letter and some examples of the concepts that are presented, please click on the appropriate link below.
