Credit Recovery

About the Lessons

-All students doing credit recovery for any course will get the same number of lessons.

-Most lessons will have tests that are 10 questions in length. However courses that have fewer lessons will have longer tests. This is to make all semester courses about the same  length.

-To complete practice and mastery tests students must achieve a score of 80%.

-All lessons must be attempted and 90% of the lessons for a course must be mastered.

-When lessons are completed a 50 question final must be taken. To complete the final  a score of at least 60% must be achieved.

-Credit recovery is limited to the first 28 students (seniors) who enroll. If there are seats available juniors may apply.

-Let your counselor know when you have completed (got a apple for) at least 90% of the lessons and completed the final (60% or higher) so credit for the course can be given.


Rules of Credit Recovery

If any of these rules are violated credit WILL NOT BE GIVEN.

  1. You must work alone under the supervision of a teacher.
  2. You cannot work on credit recovery in other classes.
  3. Notes can be taken from the program's study material.
  4. Notes can be used on the practice tests but not on the mastery test and final.
  5. You can get help from a teacher on the practice tests.
  6. While working on courses talking to other students is not permitted.
  7. Cheating by looking on other monitors or copying questions for later use is not permitted.
  8. No food or drink in the computer labs.
  9. Logging in as another student will result in ISS and all credit recovery for both students will be voided.
  10. Read the A+LS usage rules before starting credit recovery. You will be expected to follow these rules as well.
  11. If you sign up for this and do not work on it within a week you will be dropped and another student will take your place. This is ONLY FOR STUDENTS SERIOUS ABOUT MAKING UP CREDITS SO THEY CAN GRADUATE.

Basic Order of Work in A+LS For Credit Recovery

  1. Log into A+LS.
  2. Find the "credit recovery" lessons in the drop down menu.
  3. Click on the subject.
  4. Click on the first lesson.
  5. Go into the "study" for that lesson and read and take notes as needed. (NOTE: You must be in the "study" 2 minutes before the program will let you go into "practice".)
  6. After the "study" take the "practice test" using notes as needed.
  7. When you get 80% on the practice go to the "test". (cannot use notes)
  8. When you get 80% on the test the lesson is completed and you can go to the next lesson.
  9. When all lessons have been attempted and at least 90% are mastered take the "final exam". (cannot use notes)
  10. When at least  90% of the lessons are completed and 60% or above is achieved on the final the course is completed.
